lyrics
Thee Almighty
(Mitchell, Pamblanco)
Over time, the evil reigned
To take immoral, to their domain
Ordered to, exterminate
The evil doers, of our race
Hallows eve, this is the day
When all the living, all should pray
Their lives to save, their souls to keep
Chilling night, moonlight gleams
Howling wind through the trees
Calling out to your name
As you hide your face in shame
The evil will not go away
Until all the sinners pay
The price they owe to mankind
For their demise, is what they’ll find!
Your soul belongs to the fire
It’s time to face his desire
Mankind treads in fear
Thee Almighty is near
Wretched figures, of the night
Through their eyes, shines deadly bright
Stalking down, they prey they seek
Lashing out a terror shriek
Spirits dressed in black attire
Floating over a lake of fire
Dragged down into hell you’ll see
Where afterlife is misery
(Chorus)
Your soul belongs to the fire
It’s time to face his desire
Mankind treads in fear
Thee Almighty is here
You can’t hide from the pain
Adrenaline of thee insane
It’s time to face your fears
Thee Almighty is here
Cross the evil River Styx
Into a place, called the abyss
Dark and silence all around
Eerie feeling, not a sound
Inferno region of the dead
You should have listened to what they said
Crack the skull, break the bone
Slave to death, forevermore
(Repeat Chorus)
It’s time to face your fears
Thee Almighty is here
Killer thrash from the 80s, remastered and re-released to remind the kids how it was done before there was a roadmap.
I never heard of them until now, but these guys hold up well against the best of the popular bands of the era- Death Angel, Violence, Forbidden, early Metallica and early Slayer.
Edit: After a coupla months to digest this, I have to say these guys are one of the best thrash bands ever, period. The fact that they were doing this in 1986 is testament to their fucking genius. Lute FP
Quite possibly the best thrash metal album since the early 90s. Sounds like it could be a lost classic from 87-90, but it’s not a paint-by-numbers retro exercise, either. Vicious riffs and killer lead work (check out the Maiden-esque harmonies on “Spiral of Hatred” and ""Onset"). Love that snare sound, too. Juan Valdeath
Blackened death metal riffs and Lovecraftian horror go hand-in-hand on the Seattle brutalists' ferocious eight-track epic. Bandcamp New & Notable Dec 6, 2023
My favorite material from Solstice! Despite their amazing discography that lay before this that completely set the foundation, this in my opinion is where it all comes to a mighty peak. What an amazing emotional and powerful picture painted in such a short amount of time. Talon Sullivan
