Lost Colony 05:38
Lost Colony In the year of our lord 1584 England set sail for New World shores First colony settled in claim of their queen Roanoke Isle who knew what fate would bring Chorus Life was hard And filled with strife Trying to balance death and life Winters harsh And filled with plague Colony’s cost took its toll in spades Verse 2 Forced return to England for supplies Governor set out midst plaintive cries Sent quickly cross Atlantic on his way Colonists bound to face all Come what may Chorus Colony lost without a trace New world last resting place Supply ship returned from the sea What they found was a mystery Upon his return governor’s affright Deserted village no grave markers in sight What malady or massacre did destiny hold None remained from whom the tale could be told Chorus Colony lost without a trace No greater puzzle had the governor faced Nary a clue what their fate may be Save for the carving on a solitary tree-

Neptune’s Ballroom Built at peak of fortune’s rise Symbol of unscrupulous device Victorian whimsy he could boast To any guest whom he might host Ballroom under the estate lake Extravagant folly of tycoon rake Built in honor of God of sea Poer wielded carelessly Series of swindles gone awry Soon took his life by cyanide Faced trial Shame he couldn’t bear Ballroom empty in disrepair Chorus None dance here anymore Ballroom witness now silent Opulent greed the undoing Of the robber baron pirate Ballroom once built for privileged fun Now like a temple to the Ancient Ones Eerie sunlight filtered gloom Through glass dome dim green fills the room Spire arched hallways add unease Discontent ghosts watch silently Chorus None dance here anymore Ballroom witness now silent Opulent greed the undoing Of the robber baron pirate

Nothing 03:47
I’ve done everything that there is to do But, in the end It meant nothing to you I gave you the world You tore mine into Shot down in flames Like it’s nothing for you Like it’s Nothing Nothing You’re just making and breaking And tearing it down to Nothing Nothing Till all that is left are just memories Burned to the ground I gave you the World You tore mine into Shot down in flames like it’s nothing for you repeat chorus Still, I begged every day what else could I do Still, you turned away It was nothing for you repeat chorus When you’ve done everything that you can Over and over and Over again Still, we see in the end it all boils down to….. repeat chorus

about

Established in 2010 Dogbane released their debut album "Residual Alcatraz" during December of 2011 on "Heaven and Hell Records". The band is a combination of Traditional/NWOBHM with a touch of Doom.

Moving along to 2020, three albums later, Dogbane's fourth release is the 4 song EP entitled "Neptune's Ballroom". It contains songs that were recorded in the "Idylls Of Woe" sessions in 2019 at Studio 5 in Greensboro, NC. "Neptune's Ballroom" is the last material to include original founding member guitarist Mitch Allred. The artwork for the EP maintains the visual continuity by once again enlisting the artwork of M. Wayne Miller. As with the previous "Idylls Of Woe", "Neptune's Ballroom" will be released on vinyl and CD
